Weinmann MEDUMAT Standard2 Emergency- and Transport Ventilator
MEDUMAT Standard2 is an emergency and transport ventilator with functions for the monitoring of respiratory values.
MEDUMAT Standard2 is used in the treatment of infants, children and adults weighing 3 kg or more where spontaneous respiration has failed or is inadequate. The device can be used for invasive and non-invasive ventilation via the patient’s nose, mouth or trachea. In the case of volume-controlled ventilation, tidal volumes of 50 ml or more are possible. Smaller tidal volumes are also possible in the case of pressure-controlled ventilation.
Description:
- MEDUMAT Standard2 offers a completely new view of modern emergency and transport ventilation. The display provides a clear, well-structured overview of all major respiratory parameters and optional ventilation curves.
- Quick and easy access to the right ventilation with entry of height or via emergency mode for adults, children and infants.
- Clearly organized operating elements and symbols, plus effective acoustic and visual alarms are additional details that ensure the highest level of safety.
- CPR mode for guideline-compliant cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- RSI mode for reliable support with induction of anesthesia.
- CPAP mode with optional pressure support ASB for non-invasive therapy in pre-hospital treatment.
- Protection from contamination by means of hygiene input filter.
- Low weight of 2.5 kg makes device suitable for ground and air emergency medical services.
- High level of mobility ensured thanks to the battery life of up to 10 hours.
- Simple, intuitive operation via flat menu structures.
- Optimum setting and monitoring of ventilation by means of the options Flow measurement + ASB, capnography and pressure-controlled ventilation modes.
- Customization by means of pre-configuration of ventilation and device settings.
- MEDUMAT Standard2 standard Ventilation Modes:
- Volume Controlled: IPPV, CPR and RSI.
- Spontaneous breathing: CPAP
- MEDUMAT Standard2 Ventilation Mode Options:
- Volume Controlled: SIMV, SIMV+ASB (with Options SIMV mode and Flow measurement + ASB) and S-IPPV (with Option S-IPPV mode), Inhalation (with Option Inhalation mode).

Intended application areas:
- Primary care at the site of the emergency, e.g., to resuscitate or induce and maintain anesthesia (also TIVA: total intravenous anesthesia)
- Transport between hospital rooms and departments
- Transport between the hospital and other sites in an ambulance, ship, airplane or helicopter
- Intra-hospital in the trauma or recovery room

What is SIMV?
Synchronized intermittent mandatory ventilation (SIMV) is a type of volume control mode of ventilation. With this mode, the ventilator will deliver a mandatory (set) number of breaths with a set volume while at the same time allowing spontaneous breaths
